Pawsitive Care Clinic
Welcome to Heartland Humane Shelter & Care Pawsitive Care Clinic! We offer affordable preventative care for your pets. Appointments are available every Monday afternoon from 2–5 pm for services that include a brief physical exam, vaccinations, microchipping, and parasite control (both external and internal) provided by our Veterinarian.
Appointments are available for spay/neuter for cats on Tuesday mornings.
Please schedule ONE appointment per pet.
What to Expect:
Your pet will receive a brief, limited physical exam to ensure they are healthy enough for same-day vaccinations. Currently, we are only able to offer vaccine and parasite control. If any other health concerns arise during the exam, we will recommend a follow-up with a full-service Veterinary Clinic. You will also receive a record of the exam notes and services provided. Please schedule ONE appointment per pet.
If this is your pet's first round of vaccinations, they may need booster shots. Pets must be at least 4 months old to receive a rabies vaccination. The vaccines provided at this clinic are for one year. If you need a 3-year vaccine, please bring proof of previous vaccination.
Pets attending this clinic must be handleable. If your pet typically struggles in a vet environment or with unfamiliar people, this may not be the right clinic for them.
If your dog is reactive to other animals, please check in with us in the lobby before entering.
All cats must be in a carrier. If you don't have one, please contact the shelter in advance to arrange a loaner.
