Before you grab the leash...

• You must be 18 years of age or older to sign up for Fetch a Friend. ID is required at time of pick up.
• Dogs must remain on leash.
• Dogs should not be introduced to other animals for safety.
• Heartland staff and caregivers use positive reinforcement only.
• Have an open mind with the dog that you take and your destination.
• Corvallis and surrounding areas are very dog friendly but there are some restrictions. Check out these lists of possible destinations!

• Ask a staff member to check if you have everything you need.
  

While you're out...

• Have fun and take lots of cute photos and videos!
• Advocate for your adoptable dog!
• Monitor your dog’s behavior and do your best to reduce their stress. This may involve moving to a new area if needed.
• Keep a tight grip with two points of contact and keep your balance.
• It is best to avoid other dogs. Try to maintain a 20 foot distance.
• Get to know your dog before going to a high reactivity area.
  

When you get back...

• Keep the dog in your car while you enter the lobby to check back in.
• Check your email for our survey!
