.:: Adoption Prices ::.
It is the highest priority at Heartland to adopt out happy and healthy animals to the caring community while trying to stop the overpopulation of our furry friends. In order for this to happen, we require that all of our animals are either neutered while in our shelter, or neutered within 30 days of adoption. The adoption fee for an animal that has not been neutered includes a spay or neuter deposit ($15.00 for cats, $20.00 for dogs) which can be used at any of the local veterinarian clinics. Animals that have already been neutered upon adoption carry a slightly higher adoption fee.
The standard (non-G.E.M. animals*) adoption fees are:
Cats and Kittens
Dogs and Puppies
Rabbits
Ferrets
Guinea Pigs
Rats
Rodents

.:: Adoption Package ::.
As a non-profit, community organization Heartland does its best to keep prices very reasonable for those adopting pets while bringing in enough money to keep the program running. In an effort to best prepare the adopter and animal, Heartland has put together a package that accompanies the animal.
With the neuter deposit and free veterinary exam in the adoption package, getting an animal is actually better than free for the responsible pet owners. The whole package included with the animal:
- Free veterinary exam
- First vaccinations
- Leash and collar
- ID tag
- Deworming
- Spay or neuter deposit ($15.00 for cats, $20.00 for dogs)
- Cat carrier
- Pet training information

.:: G.E.M Animals ::.
G.E.M. animals provide a financial legacy to other shelter animals through their higher adoption fee. These special pets, who are always adopted quickly, Go the Extra Mile for the other animals in our care who may need to live in our shelter for many months or who need medical treatment while they are here.
