Heartland Humane Society is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. We rely on the generosity of individuals to help us achieve our mission: To build a more compassionate community by teaching humane messages to our youth, caring for homeless animals and strengthening the human-animal bond. All donations to Heartland are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

There are many ways to help us. Following are the 10 most popular.

1. Volunteer your time, energy and skills at the shelter, at the Cat's Meow Thrift Shop or by doing special home-based projects.
   
2. Make a simple monetary donation or join our monthly giving program, the Circle of Kindness.
   
3. Make a planned gift such as a living will, a gift of stock or by naming us in your will. We are happy to discuss the simplest way to make a planned gift with you or your financial planner and have included some suggested language (more info to come soon).
   
4. Join us at a special event (event listing to come soon).
   
5. Host a Heartland Donation Box in your business or work place. Send us an email at questions@heartlandhumane.org to find out how.
   
6. Provide for the homeless animals as well as your beloved pets by joining the Heartland Promise Program.
   
7. Gather or purchase items from our Wish List and bring them by our shelter.
   
8. Purchase a commemorative brick or deluxe paver (more info to come soon) to be placed near our facility's front door. It is a great way to honor a special person or animal in your life.
   
9. Donate a vehicle for us to resell or to be used at the shelter. Please contact us before making an auto donation.
   
10. Sponsor an animal $185, a cat kennel $500, a dog kennel $1000 or one of the unsponsored areas of our facility. Call us 541-757-7000 to find out more.
