.:: Humane Education ::.

Teaching children how to treat animals when they are young will reflect the way the care for people in the future.

Our mission: To build a more compassionate community by teaching humane message to our youth, caring for homeless animals and strengthening the human-animal bond begins with our commitment to education.

Our goal of a more compassionate community can only be attained through constant, consistent, age-appropriate messaging to a myriad of audiences on animal related issues.

Every year we visit all of our local elementary schools sowing the seeds of compassion by teaching responsible pet guardianship and safety around animals. However, we will not be satisfied until our messages reach every student in every school each year.

Every month, through the support of local businesses and the Corvallis Gazette Times, we publish a pet-care page in our local paper. Again, we are bringing humane messages to the community.

Every day we have volunteers in our shelter. Many of them range in age between 8 and 15 years. While they are here they volunteer side-by-side with a family member. Together they learn the joy of giving and helping others in need.

If you would like to have our Humane Educator or Volunteer Coordinator visit your school, church or activities club, please contact us.
